Who We Are

ForgeLine Systems LLC ("ForgeLine," "we," "us," or "our") operates a suite of software products for small business owners and independent professionals, including Velvet, Threshold, Recon, Press, and Works. Our principal place of business is in Boise, Idaho.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information across all ForgeLine products and services. By using any ForgeLine product, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

Account information: Name, email address, business name, and billing information when you create an account or subscribe to a ForgeLine product.

Profile information: For Velvet (our platform for personal stylists), we collect optional professional profile information including your style philosophy, signature approach, aesthetic preferences, business location, and Instagram handle. This information is used exclusively to generate content on your behalf and improve the quality of AI-generated outputs for your specific context.

Client information: Information you enter about your clients (such as names, style preferences, measurements, and photos) is stored on your behalf. We do not access, analyze, or use your client data for any purpose other than providing the service to you. Your client data belongs to you.

Usage data: We collect information about how you use our products — pages visited, features used, actions taken — to improve our services and provide support.

Communications: If you contact us for support or provide feedback, we retain those communications.

Instagram and Social Media Data

Velvet integrates with Instagram via the Meta Graph API for stylists who choose to connect their Instagram Business account. When you connect your Instagram account to Velvet, we may access and process the following data:

• Post history: Captions, media types, and timestamps of your past posts (up to 50 posts) to analyze your content voice and posting patterns
• Performance metrics: Engagement data (likes, comments) on your posts to identify what content resonates with your audience
• Account information: Your Instagram username and profile information
• Publishing permissions: When you explicitly choose to schedule or publish content through Velvet, we use your authorized credentials to submit that content to Instagram on your behalf

We use Instagram data exclusively to improve the AI-generated content we create for you — specifically, to match your existing voice, understand your audience, and make your generated content feel authentically like you rather than generic. We do not sell Instagram data to third parties. We do not use Instagram data for advertising. We do not publish anything to your Instagram account without your explicit review and approval.

You can disconnect your Instagram account from Velvet at any time through Settings → Integrations. Disconnecting immediately revokes our access and stops any pending scheduled posts.

Our use of Instagram data is governed by Meta's Platform Terms in addition to this policy.

AI-Generated Content

ForgeLine products use artificial intelligence — including large language models operated by Anthropic — to generate content, analysis, and recommendations. When you use AI features, your inputs (such as content briefs, client information you provide, or questions you ask) are processed by these models to produce outputs.

We do not use your content or client data to train AI models. Your inputs are processed to produce your outputs and are not shared with other users or used to improve AI systems beyond your own session.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide, operate, and improve our products
• To generate AI-powered content, analysis, and recommendations on your behalf
• To process payments and manage subscriptions
• To send product updates, security notices, and support communications
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties for advertising purposes.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers located in the United States (Hetzner Online GmbH, EU-regulated). We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized ForgeLine personnel.

For Threshold (our healthcare-adjacent product), data handling follows HIPAA-aligned practices. A Business Associate Agreement is available upon request for covered entities.

Data Retention

We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period after cancellation to allow account recovery and fulfill legal obligations. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at privacy@forgelinesystems.com.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You may also request a copy of the data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@forgelinesystems.com. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are located in the European Economic Area or California, additional rights may apply under GDPR or CCPA respectively. Contact us for details.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your authenticated session. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not run third-party analytics that track you across other sites.

Children

Our products are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our products evolve. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email or a notice in the product. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document reflects the most recent revision.
